“Remothered: Tormented Fathers” is the first sequel of one of the most anticipated horror game series in 2017. Main heroine Rosemary Reed is a 35-year-old woman on a look for a girl called Celeste who disappeared out of sudden. While she is searching for her she stumbles on Richard Felton's house which has been cursed by a mysterious disease. As she approaches the house, she gets greeted by his nurse, Gloria. That’s the moment when the game begins. As time goes by and she digs her nose deeper and deeper into the house, mysterious things start to appear in front of her. Psychological plot with movie-like cutscenes helps to create a terrifying atmosphere that is enhanced with unpredictable plot-twists, so you will often experience disturbing feelings as well as feelings of despair and fear.
When it comes to gameplay, “Remothered: Tormented Fathers” is full of interesting and innovative features that create a revolutionary experience suitable for all survival horror fans. Like in real life every drawer, box or even a small crate is accessible for you to see what is hidden inside. Collecting and exploring are two core features that will find their place during your gameplay. Collected items will help you to defend yourself or to unlock hidden nooks and crannies in the mansion, but be careful because your inventory is limited so you will have to think twice before you start with meaningless hoarding!
Once you really dive into the game you will find out that there are plenty of blind spots which can be used for you to hide and its position will often play the difference between life and death. You will soon realize that being stealth is beneficial for you in order to survive, achieve your goal and solve the mystery. That is not the only way how to survive though, there are endless possible combinations of game dynamics such as action, strategic, waiting or hide & run. Another interesting feature is that you will not find any health bars or indicators of your health at all. Your body is the only way to understand how you are doing and that can get sometimes pretty hard, especially when a light is considered as a rare thing!
A huge mansion belonging to a crazy old man, immense corridors with hundreds of rooms to explore and a beautiful researcher in a leading role underlined with a top-notch soundtrack created by Nobuko Toda (author of music for Final Fantasy, Halo and Metal Gear Solid). What more can we ask for? But let’s sum it up. The in-game mechanics are well developed introducing unique features and interesting concepts that are new to the genre of horror games. Audio and visual sides are stunning and will help you to dive into this realistic horror game in first few minutes and make you enjoy its psychological plot to the fullest!
