Soul Harvest is a fast-paced strategy Indie game set in depths of hell where you play an important role of the Archdemon which strives to dominate the underworld. Your goal is to harvest souls to summon minion armies or to cast unholy magic and beat your opponents. Soul Harvest was developed and published by new Indie studio “Nanoleptic Games” which brought us a unique mix of strategy, action and RTS genre in one game. The best experience is achieved by playing in four players at a time in local multiplayer, but an adjusted version for single player is also available. Now, let’s have a deeper look and see how it all works together. You start as a demon and recruit one of these four factions: Transgression, Excess, Bitterness, and Cruelty in 2 versus game modes; Elimination and Citadel or a classic story mode. At the moment, only two different map biomes (lava and ashes) are available, but on the other hand, there is plenty of different map layouts to choose from. The in-game mechanics are fairly easy to use, and all the RTS elements were simplified enough to be played and understood even by casual players with no previous experience with this genre. In general, Soul Harvest is surprisingly easy to play since there are only four types of minions that each race can summon and use. That might sound like a benefit, but in our opinion, the game lacks any deeper mechanics so the joy from the game won’t last for a very long time and the game itself gets boring pretty quickly.
